Isshu Sugawara (菅原 一秀 Sugawara Isshū, born January 7, 1962) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Nerima, Tokyo and graduate of Waseda University, he was elected to the assembly of Nerima, Tokyo for the first time in 1991 where he served for two terms after an unsuccessful run in 1990. After having served in the prefectural assembly of Tokyo since 1997, he ran unsuccessfully for the House of Representatives in 2000. He ran again three years later and was elected for the first time.
